Noted Homoeopath and Educationist, Late Dr A.Y. Srinivasan was a visionary. He had a passion for Homoeopathy & Bio-Chemic System of Medicine and his pioneering contribution to sow a seed & to establish a modern Homoeopathic manufacturing unit at Bangalore to produce good quality medicines at affordable costs, are commendable.
Born in Mysore City, in the state of Karnataka, India, in an orthodox brahmin family, he grew up to secure a master’s degree in Arts and Law. He was fully convinced about the wonderful curative properties of Homoeopathy, which he could witness in a gradual and total wonderful recovery of his ailing mother, with the treatment from Dr H S N Roy, An Outstanding Homoeopath of yester Years. Thus, he decided to give up his lucrative legal profession and to embrace the Homoeopathic Profession out of passion for this great system.
He later qualified to become a Homoeopath.
- He worked as a lecturer in Hahnemannian college of Homoeopathic Medicine at Bangalore.
- He founded the erstwhile, Bangalore Homoeopathic Medical College, Bangalore.
- He was the former President of the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India, Karnataka State Branch, for few years.
- He was elected as the President of the Karnataka Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Govt of Karnataka, Bangalore.
- He was the recipient of the prestigious HERF (Homoeopathic Educational & Research Foundation Award) National Award in the Year 1982, for his outstanding contribution to the research and overall development of Homoeopathy in the state of Karnataka.
He then started, with just two of his own Homoeopathic formulations, a manufacturing company named Bangalore Bio-Plasgens in the year 1987.
After his demise, his son, Dr A S Narayan took over the functioning of the company.
